Lilikoi, or passion fruit, boasts a unique and vibrant flavor profile that combines tartness with a subtle sweetness, creating a delightful explosion of tropical taste. Its juicy pulp can vary from mildly sweet to intensely tangy, making it both refreshing and invigorating. This intriguing balance of flavors makes lilikoi a versatile ingredient in both sweet and savory dishes.
Incorporating lilikoi into your meals can enhance the overall flavor experience, while supporting stronger immune function and healthy skin. Its high antioxidant content helps combat oxidative stress, while the dietary fiber in lilikoi aids digestion and keeps you feeling full longer.
One popular method for enjoying passion fruit is to scoop out the tangy pulp and add it to smoothies for a burst of tropical zest. You can also drizzle it over yogurt or oatmeal for a refreshing breakfast. For a more unique method, try using lilikoi in salad dressings or marinades, or incorporate it into desserts like cheesecakes and tarts. Whether enjoyed fresh, juiced, or transformed into sauces, lilikoi brings a vibrant taste of the tropics to your table while nourishing your body.

Customers at our markets always ask Raiz Tortillas, "When will Ray do tortilla-making demos or dinners?"
Good news! Raiz is now offering two different opportunities to experience their chef's incredible culinary skills first-hand!
In partnership with CookSpace Hawaii, led by Melanie Kosaka and Megan Tomino, Raiz Tortillas will be launching their new culinary series, Simmer Sundays, at Bloomingdales. There, Ray will lead a group of 25 through a succulent taco recipe — from kernel-to-table — highlighting the art of traditional tortilla making.
Additionally, Raiz is partnering with Mercado de la Raza and MW Restaurant to present a Masa & Tortilla inspired 5-course dinner on October 19th. Here, Ray will have the opportunity to return to the kitchen to showcase his passion for fine-dining infused with the flavors of his culture. After teaching the MW team several traditional Mexican dishes, they will also be creating paired dishes, inspired by his example, to be served alongside Ray's.
See the flyers below for more details.
