"Aloha! My name is Keali'i and we sell our coconuts under the Polynesian Arts and Cultural Foundation, a not-for-profit DBA, as PAC Foundation. Tired of being in a classroom from the hilltop of Kamehameha to the hilltop of the University of San Francisco as an undergrad majoring in Exercise and Sports Science, then my Master’s and OTD degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Southern California, I needed to get back to my roots and coconuts were my passion. I have been in the coconut business since 2021 and saw a need with clients wanting to live healthier. We are blessed with our clients and tree trimmers who provide us coconuts everyday, and look forward to servicing you at our newest location at Kaka'ako and KailuaTown Farmers Markets. A hui hou!"

Unfortunately, our local farms are still recovering after the heavy rains last month. Our farmers appreciate your continued patience as you may find that some of their usual produce, such as lettuce and fruits, are still missing from the markets. Until then, shop some of their lettuce alternatives, all of which make great substitutes in household dishes such as salads, sandwiches, stews and more!

Shop cabbage, microgreens, watercress and kale at your nearest market, and reap the health benefits they provide. Kale, watercress and microgreens are known to be jam-packed with antioxidants, while cabbage is rich in vitamin C, fiber and vitamin K. Learn how you can incorporate these leafy veggies into your weekly meals by scrolling to our market recipe section at the bottom of the newsletter.
